My Favorite Things~
Sunday has always been my favorite day of the week. It’s the day I cease from my ‘Monday to Friday’ routine and enjoy a day with more flexibility. I start slowly and have my morning cup of coffee, sometimes tea, and after breakfast I’m getting ready for church. Usually, I connect with family or friends in the afternoon, by phone or in person. It makes for a wonderful day! Can it get any better than that? Yes! Since starting the Master Key Mastermind Alliance three weeks ago, I really look forward to our new week and materials, which begins with our webinar on Sundays. It’s a ‘done deal’…….on my calendar each Sunday for the next six months. It’s hard to believe we all are almost a month into the MKMMA!
So, What’s New this Week?
While I’m talking about things I really like, have I already mentioned I’m a long-time fan of Og Mandino? For over 20 years, I’ve been reading his books……….and it’s time to start over again and get a ‘fresh read’ of the terrific books he penned. I have to say, I’m getting a bit antsy to move on to Scroll 2! This happens to me when I get familiar with a text, after reading it a handful of times, let alone about 57 times now! Hahaha! Well, I know it’s seeping down deeper………….which is a very good thing. So, I will soon be reading my final read for the day.
In days long past, I studied anatomy and physiology, and this week’s Master Key reading started with a lesson on the anatomy and physiology of the cerebro-spinal system of the conscious mind, and the sympathetic system of the subconscious mind. It really is an amazing thing to ponder the workings of these two masterful components of the nervous systems that God created! Who else could create brilliance but One who surpasses the brilliance of His creation? Daily, I’m amazed at the things I’m reading, pondering and learning. One thing that remains in our power, is the power to choose what we accept as ‘true.’ Haanel states, “We have seen that every thought is received by the brain, which is the organ of the conscious; it is here subjected to our power of reasoning. When the objective mind has been satisfied that the thought is true it is sent to the Solar Plexus, or the brain of the subjective mind, to be made into our flesh, to be brought forth into the world as reality.” Another thing I learned (or re-learned again) is that the sympathetic system has its center in a ganglionic mass at the back of the stomach, known as the solar plexus, and is the channel of that mental action which unconsciously supports the vital functions of the body. Wow! What a connection! This gives new meaning to the expression, “I don’t have the stomach for it.”
The solar plexus has been called the ‘sun of the body’ due to it’s central point of distribution for the energy which the body is constantly generating, through the nervous system. When a person radiates a lot of energy, the person is said to have a ‘magnetic’ personality. The solar plexus has an arch enemy which must be destroyed and expelled forever, and his name is ‘fear’. Fear ‘contracts’ the solar plexus, and diminishes our energy, bringing clouds of gloom. Fear is one of the worst emotional states, and stops us in our tracks, bringing the opposite of that which we desire. The thoughts we entertain determine whether we experience fearful emotions, or those of courage, hope, and power. When we realize that the subconscious mind is responsive to our conscious will, then we have found the key to all that we desire, as the conscious mind of the individual has access to the unlimited creative power of God (Universal Mind)! These are ‘mind-boggling’ facts! Our thoughts really do matter.
